More About This Submission

Where R U? was written in 2020 as a response to the civic unrest in the United States and the resulting reverberations around the world. It was co-crafted by a few musicians who were part of an artist collaborative called FRMWRK, as we explored belonging, solidarity, and social responsibility through the fabric metaphor. In our communities, we exist within a web of relationships with one another, and the song invites us to reflect on how we participate in the weaving of that web.

Co-writing this song allowed me to constructively play a small part in advancing the conversation that was taking place at the time, and I believe my fellow musicians felt similarly about what we were doing.
