A ‘Lived Expert Library’ featuring unique aspects of our identities!
Never Too Late (NTL) would like to celebrate Living Experts by showcasing the special skills, talents, hobbies and/or other aspects of identity that represent them for Children and Youth in Care Day on May 14.
If you are a Lived Expert of child welfare, adoption and/or permanency we want you to submit videos, pictures of art pieces or experiences, photography, audio or written work such as short stories or poetry to be featured on our website.
The first 20 qualifying submissions will be added to the Library and be eligible for $35 honoraria.
We are still accepting submissions.
Looking for ideas?
Submit your favourite recipes, a dance routine, juggling, a sculpture you made, photos of you attending a cultural event, anything that shows us an aspect of who you are! If you would like some help with your idea, you can meet with our Lived Expert Coordinator, Charlene to chat with you and support your submission. Written
There are no restrictions on the length of written submission. If you are looking for a recommendation, we generally recommend keeping written submission under 750 words.
Video & Audio
There are no restrictions on the length of video and audio clips. If you are looking for a recommendation, we generally recommend video and audio clips to be between 2 - 10 minutes.

In the case where we cannot compensate you for your submission, we will reach out to check if you would still like it included on our website.

If there are concerns about your content after submitting, someone from Never Too Late (NTL) will follow up with you. Every submission will be reviewed for:
Depictions of or graphic details of violent actions that cause harm to self or others
Inclusion of identifying images or information of individuals who are not consenting to participate
Depictions of or graphic details of sexually explicit content
Hateful or oppressive content themes
