When 'care" is short on caring
In March 2026, CBC interviewed a Living Expert about her experiences in the child welfare system for their show This is Nova Scotia. She eloquently shares about her experiences coming into the system as a teenager through a voluntary service agreement and what it was like to have her child welfare services terminated (also known as “aging out”). Around 11 minutes in, she shouts out Never Too Late (NTL) and goes on to talk about the importance of permanency connections, and having someone who is not paid to be in your life, towards the end of the podcast.
The identity of the Living Expert was kept anonymous for her safety.
